چکیده

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the role Elabela in etiopathogenesis intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR).
Materials and Methods: present prospective included 43 healthy pregnant women 46 with IUGR. Maternal serum were collected from control group IUGR at time delivery. levels analyzed maternal through ELISA method.
 Results: Lower (IUGR: 1.09 (0.61-15.61) ng / mL Control: 1.44 (0.37-31.33) mL) observed patients compared controls. positively correlated gestational week neonatal weight. (r = 0.263, p 0.013 r 0.259, respectively; 0.014).
Conclusion: serves as first revealing decrease on This suggests that could be a potential drug target cases

Maternal factors associated with intrauterine growth restriction.

BACKGROUND Intrauterine growth restriction is a major neonatal health issue. Maternal factors have been found to have greater impact on IUGR. Studying these factors can help in reducing the mortality and morbidity associated with IUGR. METHODS This case-control study was conducted at the department of Paediatrics Post-graduate medical institute Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar from March 2008-A...

Elevated maternal levels of the long pentraxin 3 (PTX3) in preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction.

OBJECTIVE The prototypic long pentraxin pentraxin 3 is a new candidate marker for inflammatory conditions reflecting the involvement of the vascular bed. Endothelial dysfunction is a prominent feature of preeclampsia as a result of excessive maternal systemic inflammation. We investigated pentraxin 3 levels in preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction, pregnancy conditions related to alt...

Maternal smoking, intrauterine growth restriction, and placental apoptosis.

Pregnant women who smoke are at greater risk of delivering a growth-restricted infant than nonsmoking mothers. We wanted to see if apoptosis could be involved in the mechanisms behind smoke-induced growth restriction, and our aim was to compare apoptosis in the placenta of smoking mothers giving birth to growth-restricted infants and nonsmoking mothers with infants of appropriate weight. The pr...

Maternal amino acid supplementation for intrauterine growth restriction.

Maternal dietary protein supplementation to improve fetal growth has been considered as an option to prevent or treat intrauterine growth restriction. However, in contrast to balanced dietary supplementation, adverse perinatal outcomes in pregnant women who received high amounts of dietary protein supplementation have been observed. The responsible mechanisms for these adverse outcomes are unkn...

Circulating Levels of Inflammatory Markers in Intrauterine Growth Restriction

We aimed to investigate possible alterations in circulating levels of the perinatal stress markers high sensitivity (hs)-CRP, PAI-1, and S100B--probably reflecting brain and adipose tissue inflammation--in intrauterine growth-restricted-(IUGR) and appropriate-for-gestational-age-(AGA) pregnancies, given that these groups differ in fat mass and metabolic mechanisms involving aseptic inflammation...
